Join the community on October 26th for the 12th Annual Día de los Muertos Festival in downtown San Pedro! Hosted by Discover San Pedro, this free family-friendly celebration honors the rich Latin and Mexican heritage of Los Angeles, bringing together vibrant performances, cultural activities, and delicious food to celebrate the Day of the Dead.

Festival Highlights

  • Live Entertainment: Enjoy captivating performances, including the Grammy-winning all-female MariachiDivas de Cindy Shea, known for their modern twist on traditional mariachi.
  • Amazing Altars Contest: Explore a unique exhibition of altars created to honor loved ones. Community members are encouraged to participate or contribute items to the Community Altar and Tree of Life.
  • Family Fun: Kids will love the face painting, hands-on crafts, and exciting activities throughout the day.
  • Craft & Food Vendors: Shop handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, and indulge in a variety of delicious, authentic foods.
  • Beer Garden: Relax with a refreshing beverage as you soak in the music and festivities.
  • Free Trolley Rides: Courtesy of Downtown San Pedro, hop on a trolley to explore the area.

Altar Exhibition & Community Participation

Everyone is invited to be a part of the Amazing Altars Contest, showcasing creative and heartfelt tributes to family and loved ones. Submissions for the altar contest are currently open, making this a wonderful opportunity to share personal traditions and stories with the community. The Community Altar and Tree of Life will also be available for guests to add mementos or notes to honor those they hold dear.
