Community Voices – AAPI Film Festival at Peninsula Center Library

Rolling Hills Estates Russell Nomura and Yoshiko Oest May 27, 2025

Join the community for an afternoon of powerful storytelling at the Community Voices: AAPI Film Festival on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room in Rolling Hills Estates.

This special event features a curated collection of short films directed by senior and amateur Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) filmmakers. Each film offers a unique perspective, capturing personal and cultural narratives that reflect the rich diversity within the AAPI experience.

What to Expect

  • A lineup of short films that span themes of identity, family, resilience, and heritage

  • A showcase of emerging and elder AAPI voices in film

  • A post-screening Q&A session with the filmmakers

  • A chance to engage in meaningful dialogue and support underrepresented storytellers

This is more than a film screening—it’s a celebration of creativity, cultural reflection, and community connection.
