Looking to refresh your art stash or pass along unused supplies? The Community Art Supply Swap is back at Malaga Cove Library—and it’s the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow creatives, discover new materials, and help keep useful items out of landfills.

This eco-friendly swap is all about sharing resources, fostering creativity, and encouraging community connection through the reuse of good-quality art and craft supplies. Whether you're a professional artist, weekend crafter, or just getting started, there’s something here for everyone.

Swap Schedule:

  • 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: VIP Entry — Early access for anyone who donated supplies ahead of time. Just bring your entry ticket (received during donation drop-off).

  • 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: General Entry — Doors open to everyone!

What to Donate (April 7–24 at Malaga Cove or Miraleste Libraries):

Ask yourself: Would I give this to my best friend? If yes, bring it in! Here’s a sample of what’s welcome:

Mark Making Supplies: Pencils, inks, paints, brushes, markers, pastels
Fiber Arts: Yarn, fabric (fat quarter or larger), sewing tools, knitting/crochet supplies
Craft Tools: Glue guns, scissors, craft knives, easels, pottery tools
Paper Goods: Canvas, watercolor paper, sketchbooks, panels
Expendables: Tape, glue, popsicle sticks, googly eyes, sandpaper
Crafting Items: Beads, jewelry parts, foam, felt, containers, artificial flowers
Books: How-to books, magazines, patterns, complete kits

What Not to Bring:

To keep the swap organized and useful for all, please do not donate:

  • Dirty, moldy, or broken items

  • Clothing, pillows, sofa stuffing, small fabric scraps

  • Hazardous or heavy materials like house paint or solvents

  • Kids’ art supplies or non-functional vintage curios
