Celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th Anniversary

Step back in time for an evening of wit, charm, and camaraderie at Jane Austen Game Night! Hosted at the Miraleste Library, this special event is part of the Jane Austen 250th Anniversary Celebration Week. From 6:00 to 8:00 PM, enjoy a delightful lineup of Jane Austen–themed board and card games designed to bring out your inner Elizabeth Bennet or Mr. Darcy.

Guests are welcome to bring their own favorite Austen-inspired games as well, making this a night full of friendly competition and literary fun. Light refreshments will be served, setting the perfect tone for an evening filled with laughter and Austen-inspired banter.

Bonus: Regency Era Fashion & Etiquette Lecture

The celebration doesn’t stop there! The following evening, Wednesday, September 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, the festivities continue at the Peninsula Center Library community room with a special Regency Era Fashion and Etiquette Lecture.

Led by Kara McLeod—an accomplished instructor at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Santa Ana College, and Concordia University, as well as a designer for Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles and Disney Imagineering—this engaging talk will transport you to the Regency period. Learn about the fashion, etiquette, and social customs of Austen’s time and gain a deeper appreciation for the world that shaped her novels.
