Experience Japanese culture, craftsmanship, and community at Japanology Fair in Lomita, a thoughtfully curated two day event happening Saturday and Sunday, January 10 and 11 from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hosted at MK Studio, this free admission fair invites visitors to explore vintage kimono, handmade goods, art, and cultural pieces in an intimate and welcoming setting.

Japanology Fair returns to Lomita for its second round, once again spanning two full days. One of the highlights of the event is its rotating vendor lineup, with about half of the booths changing between Saturday and Sunday. This creates a different experience each day and makes it worth stopping by more than once if you are nearby.

Inside the studio, guests will find nine fully booked booths featuring vintage kimono, textiles, Japanese art, calligraphy, tea related goods, accessories, and handmade items. Japanology Fair was originally launched to organize and share vintage kimonos, and that spirit of recycling, preservation, and appreciation for craftsmanship continues to guide the event.

The atmosphere is intentionally calm and respectful. Guests are asked to remove their shoes before entering, following a traditional Japanese custom that helps set the tone for a thoughtful and immersive experience. This small detail adds to the sense of care and cultural intention that defines the fair.

Japanology Fair is rooted in supporting local small businesses and creating community through culture. Each vendor brings their own story and perspective, offering items that feel meaningful, personal, and connected to tradition rather than mass produced.

Events like the Japanology Fair are a reminder of why We Love South Bay Local. They celebrate culture, creativity, and small businesses while creating space for learning, connection, and appreciation across communities.

Whether you are drawn to vintage kimono, interested in Japanese culture, or simply looking for something unique to explore in the South Bay, Japanology Fair in Lomita offers a special way to spend a January weekend. With free admission, rotating vendors, and a warm community atmosphere, it is an event that invites curiosity and connection.
