Join the community in honoring a local legend at the Julian Katz Memorial Bike Ride on Sunday, July 20, starting at 10:00 AM at Miramar Park in Redondo Beach.
Hosted by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, the South Bay Bicycle Coalition, and Rabbi Gila Katz, this ride is a family-friendly event open to all ages and skill levels. The route follows the scenic Strand bike path from Torrance to Manhattan Beach, offering an inspiring ride with breathtaking ocean views.
Julian Katz was more than a bicycle advocate—he was a champion for sustainable transportation and environmental progress in the South Bay. This event celebrates his legacy while encouraging the next generation to embrace safer streets and eco-conscious commuting.
The morning will include a short bike safety training, plus helpful information on how cycling can help reduce our carbon footprint and protect the environment. Whether you’re riding in memory of Julian or showing your support for a cleaner, safer South Bay, this is a great way to spend your Sunday morning outdoors.
What to bring:

The ride ends at the Manhattan Beach Pier, so make plans to stay, enjoy the view, and connect with other local riders. This is why We Love South Bay Local!
