Love Letters to Hermosa: Drica Lobo's Farewell Art Exhibition in Hermosa Beach

Hermosa Beach Russell Nomura and Yoshiko Oest October 12, 2026

Date: Saturday, October 24, 2026
Time: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Resin Gallery – 618 Cypress Ave, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254

After nearly 20 years of living, creating art, and building connections in Hermosa Beach, local artist Drica Lobo is preparing to say goodbye to the community she has called home. On Saturday, October 24, she invites everyone to join her for Love Letters to Hermosa, a farewell solo art exhibition and going-away celebration at Resin Gallery.

For Drica, Hermosa Beach has been more than just a place to live. It's where she built her life, developed her artistic voice, and created paintings inspired by the people, places, and experiences around her. As she prepares to leave her home and art studio, this exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect on the memories and relationships that have shaped nearly two decades of her life.

Visitors can explore Drica's artwork, reconnect with the artist, and celebrate the community that has been part of her journey. The exhibition also offers an opportunity to purchase paintings from this chapter of her career, allowing pieces inspired by Hermosa Beach to find new homes with those who appreciate her work.

The farewell celebration is open to everyone who has connected with Drica or her artwork over the years, whether you've known her for a long time or recently discovered her paintings. It's an opportunity to share memories, appreciate local art, and wish her well as she begins a new chapter.

Love Letters to Hermosa takes place on Saturday, October 24, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Resin Gallery, located at 618 Cypress Ave in Hermosa Beach. The exhibition will remain on view through November 1.

We love seeing how local artists contribute to the character and creativity of our South Bay communities. Drica's nearly 20 years in Hermosa Beach are a reminder of how much our neighborhoods are shaped by the people who live, work, and create here. This farewell exhibition is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate her artwork, support a local artist, and appreciate the connections that make Hermosa Beach special.
