A new art exhibit is opening in Hermosa Beach this spring, celebrating stories of resilience, cultural identity, and connection through art.

The Spirit of Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) opens with a reception on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gallery of Hermosa. Admission is free and open to the public.

This thoughtfully curated exhibition explores themes rooted in the legacy of the Japanese diaspora, cultural renewal, and personal resilience. Among the inspirations is the gallery owner’s mother—a Hiroshima survivor—whose story adds depth and emotion to the exhibit’s overarching message.
