Experience the Art of Palm Weaving

Celebrate Filipino American History Month at the Peninsula Center Library with a hands-on Palm Weaving Workshop, led by FilAm artist Diyan BukoBomba. This unique cultural event takes place on Wednesday, October 8, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the library’s Community Room.

Palm weaving has been practiced across the globe for centuries, transforming natural materials into everyday items and special creations. From baskets and mats to festive décor and even toys, palm weaving reflects both artistry and tradition.

What to Expect

Participants will learn the techniques of palm weaving through guided facilitation and intention setting. This workshop offers a chance to create your own woven craft while connecting with the heritage and history of this beautiful art form.
