Looking for something different to do on a Friday night? San Pedro Mahjong Social is back for its third gathering on October 16, bringing together mahjong, food, music, and community at the Grand Annex in San Pedro. Hosted by Saigon Ơi Café in collaboration with the Grand Annex, this event offers a chance to learn something new, meet people, and enjoy an evening of games and good food.

Whether you're new to mahjong or already know how to play, the event welcomes beginner and intermediate players. The evening includes a guided lesson followed by open play, giving participants an opportunity to practice their skills, meet other players, and enjoy the game in a social setting.

Beyond mahjong, guests can enjoy a buffet-style dinner prepared by Saigon Ơi Café, drinks, and music throughout the evening. A DJ will be spinning '90s R&B, hip-hop, and oldies on vinyl, adding to the atmosphere. There will also be raffle prizes and giveaways, making the evening about more than just the game.

One of the ideas behind San Pedro Mahjong Social is bringing people together through a shared activity. It's an opportunity to step away from screens, learn a traditional game, and connect with others in the community. You don't need to arrive with a group or have previous mahjong experience to participate.

San Pedro Mahjong Social takes place on Friday, October 16, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Grand Annex, located at 434 W Sixth St in San Pedro. Tickets are $70 per person and include a mahjong lesson, open play, dinner, a drink, music, and raffle activities.

We love seeing local businesses collaborate to create experiences that bring people together. San Pedro Mahjong Social combines food, music, and a little friendly competition while introducing more people to a game they can continue enjoying long after the event. It's another example of the creative community gatherings that make us love South Bay Local.
