Now in its 27th season, Shakespeare by the Sea (SBTS) is a nonprofit touring company that has been bringing professional-quality performances to coastal communities since 1998. What started with nine performances in one South Bay park has grown into a 7-week summer repertory festival that tours over 20 locations across Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura Counties.

About As You Like It

This year’s Redondo Beach performance features one of Shakespeare’s most joyful romantic comedies, As You Like It. It’s a charming story filled with mistaken identities, clever disguises, witty banter, and, of course, love. When Rosalind flees persecution in her uncle’s court, she takes refuge in the Forest of Arden—disguised as a man. There, she meets Orlando, who also happens to be on the run. The forest becomes a place of transformation, humor, and self-discovery for everyone who enters.
