The 41st Annual Whale Of A Day returns to the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes, offering a full day centered around the migration of the Pacific gray whale. Set along the coastline with sweeping ocean views, this long-standing community event brings together education, entertainment, and local connection in a unique setting.

From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including children’s games, crafts, inflatables, and face painting. Visitors can explore marine-themed vendors, enjoy live music from local artists, and choose from a selection of food trucks and refreshments throughout the day. The vendor marketplace, curated by Dreamers Market, adds a local touch with coastal-inspired goods and small businesses.

This year also marks a special milestone with the centennial celebration of the Point Vicente Lighthouse. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the lighthouse grounds and visit the Interpretive Center museum, adding an educational element to the day’s activities.

One of the highlights of the event is the opportunity for cliff-side whale watching, with views overlooking the Pacific Ocean where migrating gray whales may be spotted. The natural setting adds to the experience, making it both scenic and memorable.

Free parking will be available at the Ken Dyda Civic Center, with a shuttle service provided to and from the event site to help with accessibility.
