World Famous Pie Contest at Torrance Farmers’ Market

Bring your appetite to the Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market for the 4th Annual World Famous Pie Contest on Tuesday, September 29. The annual event invites local bakers to bring their favorite homemade pies to Wilson Park for a morning of friendly competition, judging, and plenty of pie.

Want to enter your own pie? Pie entries can be dropped off at the Farmers’ Market Information Booth beginning at 9:00 AM. The official pie contest starts at 10:00 AM, when the judges will taste and score the entries.

This year’s judging panel includes Torrance Mayor George Chen, members of the Torrance City Council, the City Clerk, City Treasurer, and Torrance Police and Fire Chiefs. Visitors are welcome to watch as the judges work their way through the homemade entries and select their favorites.

The pie fun continues at 11:00 AM with a pie-eating contest. Stop by to cheer on the contestants and see who can make their way through their pie the fastest.

The Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market is open from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesdays, so there is plenty of time to shop before or after the contest. Browse seasonal produce and other market finds while you are at Wilson Park, then head over to watch the pie competition.
