Start your week with a gentle reset at Qi Gong, a five-part series held every Monday in March at the Peninsula Center Library in Rolling Hills Estates.

Led by Gayla from Torrance Memorial Medical Center, this low-impact mind-body practice is designed to help participants release tension, promote healing, strengthen the immune system, and restore balance to the mind and emotions. Qi Gong combines slow, intentional movements with breathwork and focused awareness, creating a calming and accessible practice suitable for many fitness levels.

The series takes place in the Community Room from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, offering a structured yet relaxed space to move, breathe, and reconnect. Whether you are new to Qi Gong or have experience with mindful movement practices, this series provides an opportunity to build consistency and experience the cumulative benefits over five weeks.

As with any movement class, participants are encouraged to consult their medical provider before attending and to avoid any movements that cause pain or discomfort. The emphasis is on gentle, supportive motion rather than intensity.

Programs like this demonstrate how local libraries continue to evolve beyond traditional services, offering wellness-based programming that supports the physical and emotional well-being of the community.

This is why We Love South Bay Local. Community spaces that offer accessible wellness programs create opportunities for residents to care for their health, connect with others, and start the week grounded and supported.
