South Bay Greek Festival: A Celebration of Culture and Cuisine

For 60 years, St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church's South Bay Greek Festival has shared the vibrant culture, rich food, and traditions of Greece with our local community. The authentic cuisine is homemade by their volunteers with recipes from all corners of the Greek Mediterranean. The village-style atmosphere of the festival perfectly represents the historical and epic Greek passion for life, food, drink, and dance. Come join this family-friendly festival experience!

OUTSIDE FOOD BOOTHS:

  • GYROS: Gyros filled with Greek-spiced beef and topped with tzatziki, tomato, and onion.
  • SOUVLAKI: Grilled chicken or pork on a stick.
  • GREEK SALAD: Feta, kalamata olives, tomato, onion, and cucumber.
  • CALAMARI: Deep-fried squid with a lemon wedge.
  • GREEK FRIES: Fried potatoes with oregano, seasonings, crumbled feta, topped with a Greek sauce.
  • LOUKOUMADES: Golden puffs of fried dough bathed in a honey and citrus syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
  • COFFEE & DESSERTS: Greek coffee, pastries, frappe.

INDOOR FOOD LINE MENU:

  • LAMB SHANK: Roasted with lemon juice, fresh garlic, and Greek spices.
  • HALF-CHICKEN: Roast chicken with Greek spices, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  • GREEN BEANS: Green beans braised in a Greek tomato sauce with a hint of mint.
  • GREEK POTATOES: Red potatoes, thin sliced, roasted with lemon juice, Greek spices, and butter.
  • MOUSAKA: Traditional casserole with sliced eggplant, potatoes, and ground beef topped with white cream sauce. Spices include nutmeg and cinnamon.
  • PASTITSIO: Ground beef and pasta in a red sauce and topped with white cream sauce.
  • SPANAKOPITA: Filo pastry triangles filled with spinach and a blend of cheeses, including feta.
  • TIROPITA: Filo pastry triangles filled with a blend of cheeses, including feta.
  • DOLMADES: Marinated grape leaves stuffed with rice and ground beef, served with a lemon dill sauce.
  • DINNER SALAD: Traditional with feta, kalamata olive, pepperoncini, cucumber, and tomato.
  • FETA: Classic Greek cheese.

DANCE & LIVE GREEK MUSIC:

The award-winning folk dance groups are nationally recognized and made up of children from kindergarten to college-age. The groups perform each day.

OPA! Dance lessons offered daily. Everyone is encouraged to get up and join the dancing as the live Greek band plays.

JUST FOR KIDS:

A specially purchased wristband will give kids access all day to an area filled with fun activities to keep your child entertained at the festival.
